Question How do i Add the edit button to the side of the document
Answer The edit button stands for section edit. Clicking on it will open for editing only the specified section of the document.

This button appears only if:

  1. you have enabled section editing in xwiki.cfg ($APPHOME$/WEB-INF/xwiki.cfg, add xwiki.section.edit=1 and restart the server, if the line was not already in there
  2. you have edit right for the displayed document
